About Us
Belly Rubs Pet Care, LLC is a licensed, bonded and insured company founded in 2009 by Teresa Hogge with the busy individual in mind. The goal of forming the business was and still is to provide caring, professional and affordable pet care to all of our clients. We keep these three main principles in mind with all that we do.
Caring ~ We know it is hard to trust the care of your furry family members to someone else and we keep this in mind with every team member that is hired to be a part of our team. Our pet care professionals are all pet owners themselves and treat each client as if they were their own; with lots of love and belly rubs.
Professional ~ We have a team of trained professionals to ensure your phone calls are answered and your pet is well taken care of at all times. All prospective employees have a national background check performed before employment is offered. We employ our pet care professionals (no independent contractors here), therefore you are ensured that they are bonded and are covered by both liability and workers compensation insurance.
Affordable ~ We offer several different options so that you are able to comfortably find a solution that is right for you and your pet. Our business model also embraces territory managers who manage a small group of pet care professionals in their area. This allows us to keep administrative staff to a minimum which allows us to pass this savings on to you with lower fees than you will find at many of our competitors.
Belly Rubs is a proud member of Pet Sitters International, National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, National Dog Groomers Association of America and the Northern Virginia Professional Pet Sitters Network. Each of these organizations support quality standards for excellence and the continuing education of professional pet care providers.
Belly Rubs supports America’s VetDogs for their work in helping those who have served our country honorably to live with dignity and independence whether they are visually impaired or have other special needs, by using guide dogs, service dogs, and innovative technologies.
Meet Our Team
Teresa Hogge – Teresa, who is originally from Yorktown, VA, is the
founder and president of Belly Rubs Pet Care, LLC. Her love for animals started when she was a child with the many different pets that her family had over the years. This love turned into a passion and she found herself searching for a way to turn this passion into a career. During this search she became very interested in learning how she could help pet owners have a better relationship with their pets. This led her to study both dog training and professional grooming through Animal Behavior College. She uses her experience as both a trainer and a groomer to help pet parents build that special bond between themselves and their furry family members.
Her inspirations for founding Belly Rubs are Casey and Tara, her Cocker Spaniel and Border Collie. During her career in the corporate world when she had to work long hours or had to travel, she often struggled with finding a professional pet care company that was also affordable to help her care for Casey and Tara. This struggle led her to founding Belly Rubs Pet Care, LLC. She brings her passion for pets and combines this with her vast experience with customer service from her long career in hospitality to bring each client “Top Notch Care For Your Pet ~ Peace Of Mind For You”
Kristy Wolfe – Kristy is from Binghamton, NY and has lived in Virginia since 2003. She is a member of the Belly Rubs team as a Trainer and as Territory Manager for Ashburn. Kristy began her professional pet care career with a large national retailer in their training department and has been working with animals for many years now as a professional trainer. She continues to expand her knowledge and experience with dog behavior and training techniques by attending workshops and seminars on a regular basis, focusing her studies on positive reinforcement training techniques, solutions for reactive dogs and teaching two-legged clients how to effectively communicate with their pets. Kristy shares her home with her husband and their two dogs, Kraymer and Tucker.
Kim Telesz – Kim, who is from Pittsburgh and is a huge Steelers fan, is a member of the Belly Rubs team as a Mobile Groomer for our Ashburn Division. Right out of high school she honorably served our country as a member of the U.S. Army. When she retired from the army she spent several years working for a national package delivery company as a driver. At that same time, a close friend of Kim was beginning her career as a pet groomer and Kim soon caught the bug. She enrolled in The Maryland School of Dog Grooming, where she got her certification in December 2001. Before joining our team as a mobile groomer, Kim spent many years perfecting her craft in traditional grooming salons and she attends several seminars for professional groomers each year to stay current on grooming trends and techniques. When not working her magic on our clients, Kim likes to spend her free time with friends and her Australian Terrier, Fletch.
Dan McCracken - Dan, who is originally from New Jersey, is a member of the Belly Rubs team as Territory Manager for Arlington and he is looking forward to providing pet care services to your four legged family members. He had spent most of his career in the corporate world and was not feeling fulfilled. For some time he wanted to get into the pet industry and decided to join Belly Rubs because he values the company’s missions, practices and hands on approach. Along with his passion for pets, he has very strong customer service and business management skills. Dan found his perfect dog, Wyatt, who is a beagle mix with a very strong personality, at a local animal shelter.
